Problem solved? Took gas tank off, checked for anything obvious, found nothing of course. Removed and cleaned fuel valve (petcock) and put everything back together and now it seems OK. Before removing the tank, I drained 1/2 gal gas. I think this bike started acting up because it doesn't like to run low. I can't think of anything else, even though others tell me you should be able run the tank bone dry on reserve. Now I'm really confused, guess I'll have to wait and see.
